This issue of our blog post highlights resources and education articles that may be helpful to you as an education consultant. We’ve included links to special needs and media websites as well as articles on motivating students and modeling resilience. Check them out and let us know what other topics and websites we can research for you.
Common Sense Media: This site is a treasure of resources regarding media and tech for educators and parents. It is well arranged to allow for searches by subject, age and grade. It’s “Best of…” lists are very helpful in researching movies, books, games and teaching aids.
Do you know of families needing support for a child with ADHD? ADDitude has a weekly newsletter that allows you to select your particular interest in the subject of ADHD and receive articles and encouragement on the topic.
Another good site to support families with learning disabled children is Understood It allows you to select the specific disability or struggle that a child may have and find resources related to it.
Motivating students to work hard is often a topic that parents want to explore with an education consultant. In this article from EducationNext, the authors make the case that holding students accountable can increase their effort and raise the stakes for their learning.
