In March, many education consultants gathered in person at the MK Education Summit near Atlanta…
Welcome
You may be wondering why this looks a little different than the other news you’ve received from PACE. Let me tell you a little about a slight re-direction at PACE.
(“Redirection” you say? Don’t worry! We’re still focused on you, the education consultants who are busy serving families on the field. Hold on and let me tell you our news…)
When we began PACE, Nancy and I were intent on finding out the needs for resources, training, and community of education consultants. We assembled a great Advisory Group and Board of Directors, and have conducted two major surveys of all of you on our contact list.
We heard loud and clear that education consultants wanted a “library” at which they could find articles on education consulting, particularly on the topics they were tackling the most with their families. They also wanted the opportunity to interact with each other in a “café” at this place. Consultants also wanted to be able to go to “school” and take courses relating to the consulting they were doing every day.
So we built an online building with this library, café, and school – the former PACE website. Many of you came by the “school” often to take a course, and seemed to be having a great time learning with and getting to know your colleagues as you did. Some of you visited the “library” to read many of the original and classic articles we have. A few of you dropped by the “café” (the PACE site message boards) to see if anyone else was hanging out with a cup of coffee.
We know that you’re all incredibly busy juggling your consulting and relationships with the families you serve, your own households and families, cross-cultural living, fundraising issues and more.
So we’re going to change things up just a little bit. Now, instead of you having to come by our place, we’re coming to you!
Every week, we’ll deliver to your Inbox a blog entry (an article) of interest to you. If you visit the PACE site, these entries/articles will be archived so that you can find them at your fingertips when you need them. You can also comment on the blog entries and interact with your fellow consultants about a specific topic each week. The courses will go on much as they have all along.
We’d like to say “THANKS!” to all of you who are interested in PACE and have participated in a course, consulted a resource, or interacted with your colleagues on the PACE site – and who have made it here to the end of the article!
Anyone who leaves a comment here will have a chance to win a free Kindle. We’ll draw a name from all of the comments on December 10 and let you know who won in our next blog entry. Our motive is simply to say ‘thank you’ for your participation in our first five years.
Tell us: How have you participated in PACE over the last five years? (You can also give a shout-out to your former PACE classmates too!)
